New to Knoxville!
New to Knoxville!
This introductory course is designed for beginners, focusing on the foundational principles of improvisational theater. Participants learn the basics of spontaneity, collaboration, and creativity in a supportive, low-pressure environment. The class emphasizes the importance of saying "Yes, and...," a core improv tenet that encourages participants to accept and build on the ideas of others.
Through fun and interactive exercises and group games, students practice quick thinking, active listening, and working as a team. There's a focus on trust, making others look good, and staying present in the moment. While some students may be interested in performing, the course is also a great way to build confidence, communication skills, and social connections. No prior acting or improv experience is required—just a willingness to step outside your comfort zone and have fun!
